About Medusa Design Lab

We believe experience design is more than just a digital interface— it’s a strategic tool for solving complex problems at both the product and systems level.

Our Story

Founded by a UX designer and product strategist with a background in midwifery and a passion for maternal health advocacy, Medusa was created to bridge the gap between healthcare innovation and culturally competent maternal health practices. With experience spanning finance, wearable tech, SaaS, startups, mobile apps, and B2B, we bring a broad perspective to every challenge. Our work goes beyond screens, addressing not only digital experiences but also the physical, organizational, and systemic structures that shape maternal health.

Inspired by the misunderstood figure of Medusa in Greek mythology, we embrace the power of reframing problems, challenging assumptions, and bringing clarity to complexity. Whether improving an existing product, helping a company establish a design strategy, or working alongside researchers, Medusa is committed to transforming maternal healthcare.

Our Vision

01

A resilient maternal health system

The maternal health system must be rebuilt with resilience at its core—one that challenges the paradigms it currently rests on. For too long, women and community-centered healthcare providers have been sidelined as knowledge keepers and stakeholders in reproductive health, their expertise devalued despite a legacy of proven care models. Medusa is committed to shifting this narrative, ensuring that maternal health is designed with, not for, those who experience and provide care firsthand.

02

Societal strength through maternal health

The health of mothers and infants is not just a medical issue—it is an economic and societal imperative. When maternal and infant mortality rates are high, entire communities suffer, and the long-term economic potential of a society is diminished. The U.S. maternal health system, designed in ways that too often compromise the health and safety of mothers and babies, is a stark warning of deeper systemic failures. At Medusa, we believe that designing for maternal health is designing for a stronger future.

03

Systems thinking + design thinking

At Medusa, design is a mindset, and systems thinking is our foundation. Every system is a reflection of cultural paradigms, and we are committed to questioning the very assumptions that shape the structures we work within. Through user experience design, qualitative research, and systems visualization, we help organizations identify leverage points for change and build solutions that are not just functional but transformative.

04

Success is saving even one life

We measure success in ways that may never be fully known. If our work contributes to preventing even one maternal death, we have fulfilled our greatest aspiration. We recognize that change in maternal health does not happen in a vacuum—it requires systemic shifts, policy evolution, and cultural transformation. Our mission is to drive that change, knowing that every step forward has the potential to save lives.

Her ability to blend systems thinking with design strategy makes her an invaluable leader, whether in UX, product innovation, or maternal health advocacy. Meghan doesn’t just approach challenges with intelligence—she brings empathy and a deep understanding of the people she’s designing for.
